What are the benefits of a fabric roof?

Aside from the inherent beauty and ethereal qualities of fabric structures, a fabric roof provides numerous benefits, including:

  • A Tent-like Quality—Fabric roofs provide a tent-like experience, placing inhabitants in close proximity to nature.
  • Light Transmission—The structure’s high degree of light transmission provides shade, while allowing natural light to illuminate the interior.
  • Temperature Control—The specialty SHEERFILL Fabric allows partial light to seep in naturally, while the remaining light is reflected, keeping the interior cool, even on hot, sunny days.
  • Low Maintenance—The interior and exterior of the fabric are self cleaning and exceptionally easy to maintain.
  • Durability—SHEERFILL Fabric is extremely durable and will not degrade during its long service life. In fact, SHEERFILL has proven itself as the longest-lasting architectural membrane material on earth.
  • Functional Art—After dark, dramatic lighting can turn FABRIQ into an unforgettable work of art and a signature architectural landmark.
  • Design Aesthetic—Spectacular effects can be achieved with lights of changing colors and patterns, transfixing viewers both within FABRIQ, as well as those admiring the tensile structure from afar.
  • Environmentally ResponsibleSHEERFILL Fabric is part of an environmentally responsible approach to architecture. Free of odors and chemically inert, the FABRIQ roof is magnificent, durable, and friendly to our earth.

How does FABRIQ fare in severe weather conditions?

Extremely durable and designed to withstand severe weather, FABRIQ fares well in both hot and cold climates. The structure transforms from an open air pavilion when its doors, pivot panels, and side windows are ajar, to a temperate environment upon closure.

Fabric roofs have been utilized in exceptionally cold weather conditions, as well as in extreme heat. Examples include the fabric roof that graces the Denver International Airport and the world’s largest permanent fabric roof at the Hajj Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Severe wind loading protection is also possible with an upgraded roof arch, accommodating wind gusts of up to 150 mph.

In summary, FABRIQ fares exceptionally well in severe weather conditions:

  • Suitable for Cold Climates—Withstands extreme cold.
  • Suitable for Hot Climates—Withstands extreme heat.
  • Accommodates Severe Winds—Up to 150 mph.

What is involved in the custom-design, permitting, and installation process?

FABRIQ structures are permanent and the utmost care is taken to custom design and manufacture each structure to best accommodate its setting. Permits are required before manufacture and assembly can commence and the entire process may take nine months or more to complete, dependent on permitting. An overview of the process is summarized below:

  • Discussion and Inspection—The initial meeting and property inspection is held, during which we discuss decking, amenities, and customizations.
  • Design Renderings—Virtual renderings are provided to assist with visualization of the completed design.
  • Construction Documents—Site and construction documents are drawn up by your architect.
  • Permitting—The permit application process begins.
  • Order Placement—Once your permit is obtained our suppliers are notified and manufacturing commences.
  • Custom Manufacturing—The structure takes 30 to 45 days to manufacture.
  • Installation—The 3 week installation process begins.
  • Final Inspection—Detailed final inspection takes place, ensuring excellence and owner satisfaction.

What is the FABRIQ asking price and what does the investment include?

Each exclusive FABRIQ structure is made to order and the asking price begins at USD$750,000 (est).

The investment includes custom design, structural planning, assistance with obtaining a site permit, meticulous manufacturing, on-site assembly, and complete installation of the FABRIQ structure. Site leveling, surrounding decking, and additional amenities are the responsibility of the client.

An initial deposit is required to begin the design and rendering process. Following site plan and permit approval, a second installment is payable, and the remaining balance is withheld until the installation is complete.

Customization options are also available and may be subject to an additional fee. Please see the customization section below for further information.
